registration is open and in full swing. Racers can choose an athletic mesh
visor in lieu of a t-shirt this year as part of celebrating our fifth year.
There are limited number of visors. Racer can indicate on the registration
form or online registration if they would like a t-shirt or visor.
This
year's race is on Saturday July 10, 2010.
On-line registration should be available February 1st, 2010.
New race route maps will be available on the site soon. |

Thanks to all who joined us for our triathlon this year. We had over 300
racers, 120 volunteers and 500 spectators...our biggest race yet. We also had
over 60 kids in the Kids Fun Run. Thank you for helping us to raise $3000 for
the Okotoks Healthy Family Resource Center school supply program. We are also
pleased to let you know we raised over $16,000 for children in the Kids Hope
Ethiopia program. These funds go a long way in Ethiopia to helping these
children have a better future. Thank you.
We have some lost and found items from the race....a wetsuit, a tri
suit, goggles and bike gloves. Please contact us if you are missing these

A big thank you to the Alberta Culture and Community
Spirit Program who helped to provide us with more race course equipment this
year, through the Community Spirit Grant program.
The Foothills Triathlon Race committee will meet in September to make
plans for next year’s race. As our race has grown we are looking for folks who
would like to take an active role in organizing the triathlon. If you are

Practice Swim
Night 2009:
at Crystal Shores Beach House for any who are interested on Thursday,
July 2rd at 7:00 PM. This is an informal swim with no lifeguards (swim
at your own risk) Crystal Shores will open up the lake to triathlon
participants at this time to give you a chance to try your swim if you like.
The lake is not available to non-members at any other time for practices. Join
us if you like.
June 9: Please note the update on the website regarding the refund policy
under Race Details. All entries are non-refundable and
non-transferable. This is in keeping with the mail-in entry form and
the on-line registration site. Unfortunately, this change was missed in
updates to the website. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused.

Check out new pledge and entry forms for the Kids Fun Run held
at 11:00am the day of the Triathlon.
On-line registration for 2009 coming February 1!We
will be updating our site over the next few weeks with the 2009 on-line
registration link, brochures and entry/pledge forms.

2008 -------------------------------------------
The 2008 triathlon was another successful race. Thanks to all
the volunteers and sponsors who helped us again this past year, and we hope
to see you back again in 2009!
From 2008's race we raised enough money to send $16,300.00 to Kids
Hope Ethiopia where the money will
be used to support Ethiopian children. We also raised $3000 for the Okotoks
Healthy Family Resource left. This money was used to buy school supplies for
needy kids in Okotoks. Thank you to all for your participation and
contributions.

July 5/2008: 2008 Triathlon Race Results Available!

2007 ------------------------------------------In 2007 we had another successful race with almost 200 participants.
Thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors who helped us last year, and we
hope to see you back again this year! Together we raised $17,500 for children
who need a hand. We sent $14,500 to Kids Hope Ethiopia where the money will be used to support 50 Ethiopian children
this year. We also raised $3000 for the Okotoks Healthy Family Resource left.
This money was used to buy school supplies for needy kids in Okotoks.Thank you for your contributions.

July 8/2007: 2007 Triathlon Race Results Available!

2006 -------------------------------------------
We thought you might be interested in
knowing that in 2006 we were able to raise a total of $15,000 for Kids Hope
Ethiopia. The good news is that CHOIR, the
organization who runs Kids Hope Ethiopia received a matching grant for this
money through the Wildrose Foundation of Alberta,
matching the triathlon proceeds dollar for dollar. CHOIR has used this money
to support the 40 orphans in Ethiopia
as well as add 10 new children to the program. They have also been able to
build a school for 150 children, ages 4 to 9, who would otherwise receive no
education.
We are so pleased
with what has been accomplished. Thank you so much for your part in helping
these children. We invite you to join us again this year and bring your
friends! We hope to have another terrific race day and raise money once again
for children who really need our help.
Our focus remains on helping children in Ethiopia
As well, we are able to help children locally this
year. A portion of the proceeds will be used to help needy children in
Okotoks by providing school supplies.
